ten books in ten months …

Please note : ME awareness day is 12th May …

Awareness : ME Awareness Month 2021 …

May 12th is Myalgic Encephalomyelitis / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) International Awareness Day. On this special day, most people with ME, even those in the severe category, try to raise awareness and highlight how others can support the millions of people who suffer from ME/CFS.

ME/CFS is a serious, long-term illness that affects many body systems. People with ME/CFS have severe fatigue and sleep problems. ME/CFS symptoms may get worse even after minor physical, mental, or emotional tasks or effort. This phenomenon is known as post-exertional malaise (PEM). Other symptoms can include problems with thinking and concentrating, pain, and dizziness. Often, people with ME/CFS may not be able to do their usual activities. Many adults with ME/CFS are unable to work and long-term unemployment often brings further hardship. When children have this illness, their education is often affected.

What I Am Doing To Raise Awareness & Funding For Research

I am fundraising for The ME Trust UK as part of ME Awareness 2021.

I am going to read 10 books in 10 months and document them below (this post will be updated regularly so please bookmark it and come back).

Please click the link above to donate and help me raise as much money as we can to The ME Trust UK.

I have been sick since 1984. It took till 2001 for doctors to diagnose me with ME. Initially, I was mildly sick then moderately but in recent years I’ve progressed to being severely affected. I am housebound and often bedbound for months on end.

I really want to raise awareness and to raise money to help research #endME.

I am planning on reading ten books in ten months starting 12th May, which is international ME Awareness Day. At one time in my life I could have read ten books in ten days. But this challenge will be hard for me to do.

So please please if you can support me and help raise money for the ME Trust UK

YOU CAN DONATE BY CLICKING THE LINK BELOW:

ME Awareness Fundraising : Ten Books In Ten Months

May I suggest you donate as much as you can afford each time I complete a book. If you bookmark this page and come back each month and there will be a mini review and link to the full review added to the corresponding book month below.

If the list below is not yet full, please feel free to suggest a book for me to read and review, it would be very much welcome and appreciated. And please feel free to join me in reading ten books in ten months yourself, we can share our opinions, and raise even more money to help #endME, and I’ve added kindle links to all the books I’m reviewing.

The Books

Book #1 for May 2021

Flawed (series book 1) by Cecelia Ahern.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I found that it made me think deeply about rules and morals and why we often follow the rules that we may feel are morally wrong.

Book #6 for October 2021

My year of saying NO! was a lovely read, or more correctly it was a lovely listen. No deep dilemmas or moral issues. It felt light and easy and quite humorous at points. And ended up being a lovely love story.

Book #7 for November 2021

#No Filter by Maxine Morrey.

I’m afraid I couldn’t finish it because I wasn’t well enough to read the book and couldn’t listen to the narrator. She was such a terribly poor reader and each time I tried again I felt that I couldn’t get the just of the story because of her terrible reading style. So much so that I will never listen to another book with her as the narrator. Sorry.
